Software pirates may be screwing up release dates for Australia
“Nintendo Australia is always pushing for games to be released here at the same time as the rest of the world, so we were pleased to get New Super Mario Bros. Wii before anyone else. Unfortunately, due to to the actions of this individual, future release dates may be affected for Australia, which is disappointing for us.” - Nintendo of Australia spokesperson
Ouch…that really hurts the Aussie gamers out there. Normally you would chalk a statement like this up to a bluff, but with Nintendo you know that it could be the real deal. This is a real shame…just when Australia was getting things ironed out with their releases. Thanks to Vooks for the heads up!

Weirdness of the Day - Sakaguchi wants The Last Story to bloom like a flower
Apparently Hironobu Sakaguchi is a big fan of flowers, Camellias especially. Sakaguchi is so fond of them that he planted some Camellias for himself, and one flower that wasn’t positioned very well actually blossomed. What does this have to do with The Lsat Story?
“I don’t really do fortune-telling and I am not superstitious, but at this moment I thought ‘I want The Last Story to bloom like this as well.” - Hironobu Sakaguchi
One would hope that the game will do well, as Mr. Sakaguchi seems particularly proud of it.
“It`s almost complete and has my full satisfaction.”

RUMOR - Dead Space: Extraction heading to XBLA/PSN
You guys made it very clear…you wanted nothing to do with Dead Space: Extraction. Okay, not all of you guys directly, but many Wii owners did feel that way. What’s EA to do with a game that doesn’t sell? Move it over to the 360 and PS3, of course!
Rumor has it that Dead Space: Extraction is going to reborn again as an XBLA/PSN title that offers up all the goodies that we got, plus HD visuals. The best part for XBLA/PSN fans and worst part for Wii owners is, the game is rumored to cost just $15.

Victor Ireland accidentally confirms more remakes in the pipeline
Victor Ireland was answering a question about a display issue with Blaster Master: Overdrive when he uttered this statement…
Dunno what the thinking was on that since it came from the Japanese side. Maybe they thought the interlaced gave it a more retro look. I would definitely have preferred progressive scan (and widescreen!). All I can do is collect the feedback and use it to try to get those for the other remakes that come down the line.
